History
Sir John de Molyns created Stoke Park in 1331 when he received a royal license to enclose three woods. James Wyatt designed the Mansion; he was also an architect to George III. The historic parkland was laid out in the 18th century, with ‘Capability’ Brown creating the grounds and lake and Humphry Repton, who both improved the landscape and built the Repton bridge.

John Penn, the son of Thomas Penn, returned after spending 28 years in America and between 1792 and 1808, he set out to build the present-day mansion. Edward Coleman owned the estate from 1863 to 1885, and he improved the red deer herd that had been living on the property.

Wilberforce Bryant, the son of William Bryant, purchased the estate in 1887 and owned it until he died in 1906. Afterwards, 'Pa' Lane Jackson bought the property, who leased the mansion and half the land to the Stoke Poges Golf Club. In 1928 Sir Noel Mobbs acquired the mansion, golf course and old Manor House; he was the founder of Slough Trading Estate.

In 1958 the Eton Rural District Council gained ownership; afterwards, the South Bucks District Council granted a 250-year lease to IHG Ltd, who sub-leased the estate to Stoke Park. Who then worked with English Heritage and the National Trust to restore the Mansion, the lakes and Humphry Repton landscape. They have also restored the 18-hole golf course and added a further nine holes.
