Each Junior Suite honours its high-ceilinged architecture and is known for its perks like an evening Turndown and a delivery of fresh canapés. Some of these suites offer pleasant views over the private gardens of the hotel.

If you prefer your own private home away from home in the heart of the city, then the Guv’nor’s Suite (769sq ft) is at your disposal. The wonderful conservatory lets in natural lighting throughout this two-bedroom suite. Feel at ease in the warm and relaxed mood set by the underfloor heating.

Named after the Dukes of Bedford, who each played an essential part in creating the Bloomsbury that we know and love today is the Bedford Suite (over 649sq ft). Enjoy your private entrance and marvel at the glorious bed-, living and dining room where a blue and white colour palette comes to life.

Suppose you prefer the privacy of having your magnificent apartment. In that case, there is the Bloomsbury Set (around 1419sq ft) which fuses the Guv’nor’s Suite and the Bedford Suite that offers a combination of space and privacy. Here the best hotel amenities are paired with the deluxe seclusion of a private residence in the heart of London, where you have a glorious view from one of the three lovely outdoor terraces.

This Blue Door Bistro offers a glorious à la carte menu tackling both modern British cuisine and comfort dishes in a welcoming and informal bistro-style environment. Decorated with rich mahogany panelled walls, mirrored glass and contemporary wrought iron wall lights, it creates a charming atmosphere.  

The Leopard Bar offers a perfect mix of traditional British elegance and colonial South African inspired decorations. Enjoy a variety of snacks, meals, and an exceptional selection of drinks.

History   
When we look back at the Montague history on the Gardens Hotel, the first name that pops up is Christopher Monck, the 2nd Earl of Albemarle. He invested his entire fortune, however, little into an expedition to uncover the sunken treasure. Surprisingly, the journey succeeded; however, Christopher died on the day of the discovery. His wife, the Duchess of Albemarle, kept all the treasure for herself and swore never to remarry unless the Prince of Tartary showed up at her doorstep.

The immoral Duke of Montagu disguised himself as the Prince and therefore obtained the Duchess of Albemarle as his wife and her fortune. The Duke used his wife’s money to establish a vast mansion, Montagu House, in Great Russell Street. Six years after completing the building, a fire destroyed it. The Duke rebuilt the property and spent his life living here until he died in 1709. After that, the property changed hands quite a lot. Until Red Carnation acquired the Montague Hotel in 1996 and they reshaped it as the four-star deluxe establishment that we know today.
