Christmas Holidays Shopping
The growing excitement before the Christmas holidays is a joyous time in London. Experience the theatre, the department store Christmas fun, festive afternoon teas and hear the tale of how Charles Dickens made Christmas what it is today. You will have drivers and guides to make everything happen and give you a stress-free holiday (Christmas) time in London.
We have created an itinerary that includes tours and things to do to lift the spirits and remind you what Christmas is all about. You will enjoy church music, enjoy a sing-along concert, see the sights and have a guided Christmas themed tour of London. Choose your Luxury London Hotel.
Take a day tour to the elegant City of Bath and shop at the Christmas market, and watch the sun get low over Stonehenge. You will love the famous Christmas lights and have a helping hand with those shopping bags.
Your chauffeur will meet you inside the arrivals hall, assist with luggage and escort you to the vehicle. Your journey time will take approximately 1hr.
Once you have checked-in and had a chance to relax and become familiar with your surroundings, your driver-guide will take you on a panoramic tour of London. See all the famous sights and also stop for photographs.
Drive over Tower Bridge past the Tower of London and into the old City of London. Although much of London has redeveloped since World War Two, you still see the medieval street plan, ancient churches and grand houses of the past centuries.
Stop at thriving Borough Market, and sample local cheese, artesian bread and have a pint of ale or wine in a traditional pub.
Continue your journey along the south bank and cross Westminster Bridge passing Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament. See the Royal homes of St James Palace, Buckingham Palace and end with Kensington Palace before returning to your hotel.
Evening: Relax and have dinner at your hotel.

Today we head south-west to Stonehenge. During December the monument is usually shrouded in mist and is clad in frost. The weak winter sunshine makes the whole experience atmospheric and rather spooky. Your driver-guide will tell the story of Stonehenge. This ancient astronomical timepiece uses shadows, light and celestial objects to mark the seasons, months and days.
Drive into the rolling hills and head to the Avon Valley and stop in the historic City of Bath.
The City replicates 'London' in the Netflix TV drama 'Bridgerton'. But why film in Bath and not London? I hear you ask. Well, the City of Bath is beautifully well-reserved and has more protected historic buildings than central London. The entire City is 'listed' and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see why filmmakers are attracted to the 18th Century Georgian gem. See our Bridgerton Film Location Tour.
Your driver-guide will give you a walking tour of the City centre along with access to the Roman Baths. The 'Baths' that provide the City with its name are the very best-preserved ancient Baths in Europe. The facilities here were famous across the Roman Empire. Citizens would travel far and wide to relax in and drink the waters of Sulis Minerva, goddess of wisdom, health and healing.
In the mid 18th century the city fathers revived the decaying settlement. Investment poured into Bath; grand homes were built, and the City became a fashionable spa resort once again.
Bath Christmas Market is a joy. Most stallholders are local producers and manufacturers. It is a merry event with music, local ales flowing, and lots of food stalls. School children sing their favourite Christmas songs, brass bands blast and talented musicians entertain the crowds. Many of the stallholders involved are micro-businesses making goods here in the UK. We will produce a list of traders nearer the time. There will be plenty of opportunities for a sit-down lunch before heading into the countryside and back to London.
Evening: Enjoy an evening meal at a local restaurant to your hotel.

The best way to see London in detail is to use Taxis, the Tube and your own two feet.
Today we have the opportunity to go inside places of great historic interest without the crowds. Only the days before holidays and during do you get large numbers of people touring London.
It makes sense to start where it all began, in the old City of London, where the Romans first built amphitheatres, huge defensive walls and temples. We go underground to view the Roman Amphitheatre, a team of archaeologist discovered the 7,000 seat arena in 1988. Roman London is still there, it is largely not visible from the surface and lies hidden 18 ft below London's streets.
We head through the tangled mass of medieval-style byways to the Tower of London, the home of the Crown Jewels. London's castle is used and has been used for many purposes. Most famously as a high-end state prison, incarcerating political prisoners, Dukes, Queens, and Kings. Your guide will hit the highlights, including the jewel house. You will walk inside the vault that houses the most precious items in the realm, the coronation regalia or Crown Jewels. See the First-Star of Africa, diamond-encrusted swords and crowns covered in thousands of diamonds, emeralds, and rubies. Stop for a light lunch before heading back west.
Tour Westminster Abbey the great Royal church and place of national remembrance. Thousands of tombs and memorials clutter the interior, turning it into a national mausoleum of sorts. The architecture is breath-taking, and the history is enthralling. Your guide will take you on a highlights visit, showing you the Royal tombs and telling you the tales that make the Abbey a temple of stories.
Jump in a taxi and head across the glittering west-end to Charles Dickens House and discover how Dickens invented Christmas as we know it. Learn about the real man and how he changed how we think about Christmas, which was just one of many Christian holidays. The house was the Dickens family home. He was often inspired by his household staff and people he met while exploring London.
Head back to the Hotel. Enjoy dinner at the Hotel or the Albert Hall. Why not head back to the hotel in style, book a Horse Drawn Carriage Ride.
Evening: Enjoy the spectacular Christmas show at the Royal Albert Hall and have a chance to sing along with the professionals in this Christmas extravaganza.

Start the day when you wish, your chauffeur will be available for the whole day (8 hrs).
We would like to know what you are looking for; this will help us plan the day for you and make sure you do not miss those independent shops and cool neighbourhoods.
Selfridges is a favourite department store for Londoners and always puts on a great show at Christmas. There are some cool restaurant options, such as the Brasserie of Light and the food hall step-up food bars. The store has one of the largest 'jean' studios and a giant shoe department.
Harrod's store has a great toy section and world-famous food hall. But, there are 330 departments and 1.1 million sq ft of floor selling space to explore. It is crazy, in a good way.
London has a vast array of markets and neighbourhoods with clusters of independent shops. The shopping opportunities are endless.
We will recommend delightful Fortnum's and Mason, a department store that specialises in luxury food items for Christmas treats. Think, luxury cookies, high-end tea, and luxury accessories.
Head to Jermyn Street, for shirt makers, ties and men's shoes. Having a well-informed chauffeur and concierge back up will make your shopping day go smoothly.
Please note, we can upgrade you and provide a 'Shopping Guide.'
Afternoon Tea
The choice of afternoon tea locations in London is extensive, to say the least. Three of the best are Claridge's Hotel (old school glamour), The Savoy Hotel (super high-end) and Brown's Hotel (Traditional). We will book you in and make sure you get a great table.
Evening: Relax at the hotel.

Head west with your guide to the settlement of Windsor. Enjoy a short walking tour of the town before touring Windsor Castle.
Windsor Castle is the largest Royal residence and will not fail to impress. The castle is nearly a thousand years old and has slowly evolved, been remodelled several times and suffered a fire. Today Windsor Castle is a beautifully conserved and maintained palace of the highest order.
This weekend home is more like a small village than a family dwelling - the footprint of the building covers thirteen acres, which is surrounded by thousands of acres of grounds. Your tour begins with St George's Chapel, a Royal peculiar, much like Westminster Abbey. Here we find tombs of HRH Queen Elizabeth II and her husband HRH Prince Philip. The architecture is stunning and features a delicate stone fan-vault supported by soaring columns. Inside the choir, you discover the stone slabs that mark the last resting place of King Henry VIII and his beloved Queen Jane Seymour.
St George's Chapel is also the Head Quarters of the most senior knighthood, the Order of the Garter.
Tour the sumptuous State Apartments, the rooms built to impress foreign dignitaries. The King's art collection is mind-boggling and much admired. The display is changed regularly, and paintings are sometimes on loan at various galleries around the country. You will see the great dining and reception rooms, along with more intimate spaces.
Your driver-guide will whisk you into the Thames Valley and stop at a fabulous riverside inn for a cosy pub lunch. Meet the locals and enjoy a bit of pub banter before heading back to central London.
Evening: You may wish to enjoy a West-End show or play. Another option would be to attend evensong at St Paul's Cathedral.
Recommended London Hotels: Luxury Accommodation London.
Your chauffeur will be with you 15 minutes before you need to depart, allowing him or her enough time to load the car. The Journey time to Heathrow airport is around 45 minutes.
