Scotland’s capital is bursting with character and charm. Edinburgh is a tale of two cities: the hilltop settlement with alleys, snickets, old churches, The Castle, and the NEW City of 18th-century origin. They constructed a new town on the back of new money and investment following the Union with England in 1707. Cashmere and kilts are for sale, but our guide will help you authentically navigate Edinburgh. Tour Edinburgh Castle, dominating Edinburgh’s skyline and giving stunning views across the City and countryside. Home to the Scottish Crown Jewels, the legendary Stone of Destiny and Mons Meg – a giant cannon
Explore the official Scottish residence of HRH King Charles. The Palace of Holyroodhouse is situated at the end of the Royal Mile and visible from Arthur's Seat. Tapestries, paintings, and elaborate plasterwork adorn the staterooms. Discover the Throne Room, the Great Gallery, and Mary Queen of Scots' private apartments. David Rizzio met his unfortunate end in the outer chamber of the Queen's bedchamber.
Stop at the Scotch Whisky Experience. The whisky collection is vast at 3,384 plus bottles of Scotch Whisky, and therefore highly valuable. This incredible collection is kept secure behind a marble and glass vault. We can arrange several tasting options and learn about the history of whiskies from different regions.
Fancy a hike and a great place to watch the sunrise? Climb Carlton Hill. It’s not too tiring, we promise, and it's so worth the walk. With its classical monuments and hilltop position, it has an almost Athenian feel, and the views over the City are the best from this spot - a sunset picnic would be splendid, too.

Our culture day begins with the military key to Scotland, Stirling Castle. The strategically located fortification is at the junction of the River Forth and Teith, perfect for launching attacks into the Highlands and surrounding settlements.
Stop for a photo stop of Stirling Castle or go inside. Perched high and proud on impressive cliffs, Stirling Castle has played a crucial role in Scottish history; namely the Battles of Stirling Bridge and Bannockburn took place within its shadow. The controversial Mary Queen of Scots lived here as a child. The Queen was the focus of a Roman Catholic succession to the English, and Scottish thrones, encouraged by the great Catholic powers of Europe Queen Mary plotted the assassination of Queen Elizabeth I, ultimately she lost her head.
In the afternoon, explore Drummond Castle, one of the ‘most impressive and important’ gardens in Europe. This Renaissance terraced garden is alive with rubies, emeralds and amethysts colours. Eleven miles of box hedges weave through the landscape, creating shapes, elaborate patterns, symmetry, and harmony. Statutory and ornament further embellish this theatrical space.

Start the morning with a final game of golf at Gleneagles before heading off to the Malt Whisky Trail, along the banks of the River Spey. We would suggest the nine-hole course giving you time to enjoy the Whisky trail at leisure.
Here is the highest concentration of distilleries in the world. Discover how the national drink is made and how you can appreciate it more.
