The Beinn Bar is named after the neighbouring mountain Beinn Damh and celebrates the best of Scottish drinks from local ales to whiskies to gins.

Activities
On the estate, there are many adventurous activities such as mountain biking, sea kayaking, gorge scrambling and coasteering to guided walks, cycling and mountain guiding. You can also try out archery or clay pigeon shooting. The Torridon offers something for everyone.

History
The first Earl of Lovelace, William King-Noel, is responsible for building this hunting lodge in 1887. He married Lord Byron’s daughter, Ada, who assisted Charles Babbage in understanding and writing the first-ever computer program. After Queen Victoria made the Highlands respectable again, this property is an example of a holiday home that the English nobility would have enjoyed.

At the start of the 1960s, the Lovelace family converted the Beinn Damph House to a hotel and moved into Torridon House. When the 4th Earl died, Major Braithwaite bought the present-day Torridon Hotel, who later sold the hotel back to the Countess of Lovelace. In 1992, David and Geraldine Gregory purchased the hotel, and they re-opened the Loch Torridon Country House Hotel in 1993.

In 1999, the Gregory family converted the kitchen garden back to a 2-acre Victorian garden. The Gregory’s daughter and her husband purchased the business in 2004 after managing the property for five years.
